How to start a new company using peachtree software:

When you will execute the software Following window will appear on you computer screen:

Now next you will click on “Set up a new company” button. By clicking it following window will appear:

Now the software is showing you that you will have to provide the following information, the detail is explained. Clicking the next key will lead you to next step:

§  Your company’s name and address:

In this point you will choose the desired name of your company that you want to commence and the address of the place where your company will be performing operations / activities.

By clicking next button following window will be open where you will provide the information:

§  Your chart of accounts:

Following window will appear when you will proceed after submitting company’s information:

Now from above mentioned options you can only choose one. As we are commencing a new business so we will choose “Build your own company” and click next.

§  Accounting method:

Now you will be asked for the accounting method what you’re going to use when you will be recording your transactions.

Accrual: in simple words, in accrual system you will record your transactions as they occurred. You will record the transaction in your books weather you receive cash or not.

Cash: Whereas in cash system you will record the transactions when the cash will be received.

“You can choose any of these according to your own desire” and proceed by clicking next button.

§  Posting method:

Following window will appear by proceeding:

Real time method is used by most of the companies so we will go with that and proceed by clicking next button.

§  Accounting period:

In this point you will have to choose your accounting period. Mostly it is of 12 months so we will choose it and click next button.

§  Monthly accounting period:

From this window you will choose when your fiscal year will start, means when you will start recording your transactions in the books of accounts. And in case you were using manual data entering process you will give the month from which after your transactions will be recorded in software.

§  Congratulations:

By clicking next button following windows will appear, this shows you’ve successfully completed all the process to start a company:
